This is a study aiming to analyze the digital political activism on Facebook, practiced directly by citizens active in social media, without the sponsorship of a collective or institution. The methodology consists of 30 interviews with citizens engaged on Facebook, with the objective of evaluating their militant reasons, self-perceptions about their activist practices, their interests and motivations. The findings show that despite presenting differentiated profiles, interactants share a set of strategies and modes of political action on Facebook. The shared strategies are as follows: individual empowerment, cognitive narcissism, cognitive reciprocity, uses and gratuities, reinforcement of social capital.
